Back when I was a kid, we use to go to the beach all the time and swim out past the breakers and bob up and down waiting for a big wave to body-surf in on. From time to time, you would feel something bump your legs. You knew it was a big fish, but never gave it much thought beyond that, Then JAWS came out. I have not been in the ocean since.

it could be to do with there's lightening just about everywhere in the world, and storms are constantly happening around the world, Sharks attack are only heard of in certain places, I live in London and have never heard a news story of a shark attack only through the internet. That sounds wrong the more I think about it though haha

The shark attack is the more provocative and exciting story of the two, so it gets reported on more. It's just human nature. For instance: a serial killer kills 6 people over a course of months vs.100 people die in car wrecks over the same time frame. What gets more attention? See what I mean?

Because your proposition is simply not true. More people are hit by lightning each year than get bitten by sharks. You just don't see that in the media. Do a quick google for the stats.
