Oh yeah he WAS according to you but now since you don't agree with him he no longer is ...thats interseting thinking. His music is ok but to me hes a fake. Just using his music to dupe people and make money. He supports next to nothing about what he sings.

You're right, McCain WAS a true patriot when he stood up for his country and fellow servicemen in the past. But he was taken in by the party machine in this election and became something that probably didn't even truly represent him. I admired him before the election and I still do because I think that what transpired wasn't truly him. But you can't blame Mellencamp for not wanting his music to represent what McCain became.

I never said all liberals are anti-American. I think you are listening to his music more then you are looking at what he says or supports away from his music. I guess he figured john McCain was acrook or a thief when he threatened to sue him for using his music. John McCain whether you like him or not spent 5 years in hell for service to this country and is a true patriot. Melloncamp treated him like a piece of crap just like he would any other conservative veteran which is most of them.

Liberal does not equal Anti-American. John is the best kind of American because he loves his country enough to stand up and say what's wrong with it and let's fix it (Rain on the Scarecrow for a start). He's proud to be an American but honest about what's going bad here. If you really love your country you don't blindly accept what the crooks and thieves have done to it just because they are of the same political persuasion or religious denomination.

Don't know if this is part of you being facetious (which was clever by the way), but you do know he's saying "hayseed enough" not "Hate it enough," right? Not being an asshole, just curious cause I'm a lyric nerd.

I'm from small town Missouri and I've actually been to Saskatchewan! We went there on a mission trip in 7th grade (taught to fear Jesus in a small town ya know, ha) The biggest town near to where we visited was called Regina. I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for the wilds of nowhere, Canada! I'll never forget the mosquitoes swarming over the lake, my god, the mosquitoes..
