preciselly in his early years he was much more diverse, china, la opera sauvage, chariots of fire or the superb blade runner soundtrack are super great works, specially the blade runner soundtrack and chariots of fire, an oscar doesn't mean anything, blade runner music is by far much better than chariots, and you see....

He is more than just that. Check out 1492 and you'll see what he can do. This is very early in his career. He has since diversified. And he is an incredible composer. Besides, Yanni never won an Oscar.
