im totally on an americana done dark, sneaky & kinda creepy-vibe. and lo and behold, i go and find it by a happy-accident. this 25 year old is mixing modern-psych-folk, gospel & doing it all w/a compelling and deeply complex voice/vision of misery while she looks so wholesome. alela has such a darkly exquisite eye for narrative and a depth to her perspective that's huge. i bet this kid is gonna be just as big as her talent is someday. & she already seems to have a dedicated following in france.
