No, as comforting as that may be to you. Giving up and retreating is what the losing side does. I win, as you say rather childishly, because I am right. Kubrick is Fred Astaire to Speilberg's George Murphy. But I don't expect you to understand that analogy.

ok you win.I see this is very important to you.
LazlosPlane (December 31, 1969 at 4:59 pm)
Ironic how, when the diletente pea brain such as yourself, has NOTHING to say, no argument to offer, no discourse, or logic, you resort to attacking the writer using such pointless words, like, "snob." Go back to sleep.
mebe (December 31, 1969 at 4:59 pm)
ironic how someone who seems to use the word snob so much goes on acting the way you do

well i find spielberg is a great filmmaker, just because he sometimes produces commercial films does not make him a bad filmmaker, if you were in his place you'd do the same. he has some great movies, not better than kubrick, but still great.

Munich was a good one too.
LazlosPlane (December 31, 1969 at 4:59 pm)
Ah, the good ol' reliable, "Snob" defense. Whenever anyone without a real thought or idea wants to argue, they resort to the "Snob" defense. Yikes. All these films you mentioned were great, fun films (Schindler's List was not fun, okay?) but NONE of them approach the artful, creative, rarified air of the true genius. By the way, you forgot my personal favorite, "Jaws." Not a boil on Kubrick's ass, but you don't get it, and you never will.

Please. While it is a common misconception that Spielberg produces only popular commercial material with no artistic value, this is completely false. Schindler's List, ET, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Close Encounters of the Third Kind are all masterpieces. He is a true artist, and your snobbery about him is ridiculous.
LazlosPlane (December 31, 1969 at 4:59 pm)
Speilberg isn't a even a boil on the ass of Kubrick. He has no more business commenting on Kubrick's film as he does on Babe Ruth's swing. Please.

92sami; I may be an idiot, but your a lame, stupid, mean, childish, ignorant jackass, who cannot understand the hidden world around you. May you never have to think because it will hurt you how deep we have all been taken for a ride.P.S. Next time instead of making others feel like shit about there bad spelling, stop to think that some of us have a learning disability with dyslexia, and that we are all still learning new things every day, cant say the same for you. |
