How could Palin request an earmark from Congress? I thought you had to be a member of Congress or the Senate to do that? (Not trying to stir anything up, I'm just not sure how this works.)

John McCain repeatedly says, I will take an ink pen and I will veto every pork barrel earmark spending bill that comes across my desk. You will know their names and I will make them famous. Yet, on Oct 1st he voted for the bailout bill. After the bill was rejected by the house on Sept 29th and before McCain voted for it, the bill grew with $140 billion of pork. A real leader would have stopped his fellow Republicans from adding to this bill, but he failed.

Joe Biden wants to tack a 53 million dollar earmark on the bail out bill. The country is teetering on the brink and all he's worried about is getting a piece for DE. What a greedy disingenuous creep. And BTW there is a crabbing industry in Alaska so a study of crab DNA might make sense.

I have a problem with Palin's lying about earmarks, Obama, and her false record as a big time reformer (2% budget cut! Wow!). I don't really care much about earmarks and like it when my senator's bring home the bacon. Shoot, give every state a billion, that's like the Iraq war for 6 months... People actually live in Chicago and business is important there. Hear about that bridge in Minnesota that fell down? Good things earmarks paid to repair it.
