& although this title is LYING propaganda, it's still RELATIVELY harmless. Example: the difference between the WMD hysteria which resulted in the slaughter of hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis incl. women & children vs (hypothetically here) say I made a video claiming I did a test to see if hugging your kids daily prevented cancer (haha, silly I know, just off the top of my head) & lied that I found positive results. I can make a bit of a distinction between these two cases of propaganda

Isn't propaganda propaganda no matter who or what it exploits? The title is wrong. It should say Richard Dreyfuss poses unfullfilled answer to an unrealized question. The questions is how do we promote the love and understanding that immigrants have for this country, in the youth of today, which have taken the freedoms and blessings for granted? His answer: make them fall in love with America. No other country is a great as us. We are the shining light to the world.

As humans we are all subject to some emotions all the time. You make a great point. Human emotion is a beautiful and dangerous weapon. Beautiful when it is channeled to win someone's love and effection, dangerous when the jealousy of another causes devastating results. Read the Illiad and the Odyssey. Its emotion that gets us through every step of life. Emotional baggage is the heaviest. If only the "fat lemmings" could understand. Take away emotion and you reduce the risk of error.

So did you serve 23 years as active duty military? Their is a difference between a Marine and his wife. A soldier and his son. I can tell you have much appreciation for Mr. Dreyfuss. You think he is one of the most insightful citizens in the world today REALLY? So insightful that he doesn't offer any real solutions for our longterm problems. Make students fall in love with America. What is Mr. Dreyfuss doing to promote this LOVE for America? Talking is great, action is better. civility is hard.

the irony of this whole bit is at the end Richard talks about how soundbites are your ENEMY; forward to 10:40. There are many good points made in this film; so many that you must watch it several times and as a person who can agree and serve cynical ideals against Richard. He is very pompous.

He shows his hatred of what? I am not kidding-could you please explain your statement. And for the record-military family here-23 years active duty. I agree with your assessment of military training, but don't forget how the military has always dehumanized the "enemy"-commies, japs, gooks, towel heads, etc, to try to build-what? hate? resentment? But please expound on how Richard Dreyfus is showing hate and ignorance, and please read my posts above.Peace

No, but I did. "Most people" don't have the intellect combined with the education to understand what he is talking about. But I do agree with you-he could have made his point using a different tact and of course different language-language the "masses" could understand.
