Whoa, you have lived in some historical times and have seen some changes on a massive scale. Sam Cookes version is untouchable. Not to take anything away from Seal, it just doesnt quite have that feel that Cooke's versin has.God Bless

When I was 12 or 13, my aunt and uncle took me south on vacation...by car. During the trip we could not stay in a hotel, we had to ttake our meals from the back windows of restaurants ,Then we reached Florida and my cousins explained to me" if you go down south" things are different. We had to sit in the upper level of the movie theater and in the back of the bus." I was from the North and knew nothing, but my cousins made sure if " I went down south...

I also truly do not understand. All I know is the first song that enterd my head after the elections was Sam Cooke's " A Change is Gonna Come." In fact it was up on my site before it appeared by Seal on YouTube I sent it to all my friends. Somehow it just seemed to resonate something. Something very historical in my mind. I had no idea it would become this popular. I'd not heard or thought of this song since I was perhaps in my late teens. But ,it just popped into my head.

Anyone who places negative judgement on this talented artiste; Seal, has other issues to be concerned about. Every chorus has an issue. verse 1- war/refugee relocations, verse 2- physical/financial limitations, verse 3- crime and fear of assault. verse 4- family conflicts, and then a build in self-worth and self-confidence. Thats the message, a change from "within" that will make an overall impact on the world. |
