Well Pete was sick alot so they got Ringo to fill in when Pete was gone and then they thought that Ringo was a much better drummer. They always played better with him too because he was like the rest of the guys. Thats why Ringo is the drummer and not Pete.

I thought george martin told the rest of the guys that petes drumming had bad timing, and that's why he had to get the boot

Pete Best was a good drummer but his personality didn't fit in with the other guys. It's that simple. If you see him on Letterman he's NOTHING like the Fab Four, he's so quiet and subdued. And that's basically what they said - he wouldn't hang out with the rest of him, he had his own life and his own friends. So he got the boot.John, Paul and George were very smart...great artists though they were, they knew they had to market a product. Their drummer had to be just like them.

Its Ringo. Great harmonies and lead Vocal by John. The drum pattern was used on "In my Life" later on. NOT the same drum track, the drum pattern on the verses. There is a mistake on this one in which George goes to a G minor on guitar in the part that says Breaks my heart and leaves me sad. The voices are in a G major harmony right before going to E-7 in What am I what am I supposed to do.Listen carefully.Who cares? They knew it but since it had "vibe" they left it in LOL.Peace,MGMM

Pete Best was their old mate and the original drummer. He was fired because although popular, he wasn't good enough to play on their recordings. He was holding them back so they hired Rich Starkey. (Ringo Starr)
