Those men working on fishing ship are so brave

Interesting. Lobster and crab vessels seem to differ a lot in design around the World, even though they do a similar job. Maybe this is because of sea conditions/ how far they have to venture from port. I'm not a seafarer of any kind so I'm commenting from ignorance (!) but I'd prefer not to have to work on such an open deck as this one. Those who do have my deepest respect!

The Northwestern has that configuration because it was built for fishing, many other ships in the series, like Wizard, are converted tankers or haulers and not really made for fishing.

Why not have the superstructure placed forward, offering protection to an after-deck? I guess the skipper's nightmare is finding that when all the water clears off the deck, that it has taken all the crew with it. Frightening workplace. I've been in a pretty awesome foundry which dropped 16 tons of liquid malleable iron through a hole which burned through an induction furnace. But this is even more dangerous.

Everytime I eat crab I think of those brave dudes out there making it possible for me to do so. We should never take what these men do for granted. Man we pay entertainers handsome fees to do NOTHING for us. lol...where's our heads at???

THE REAL REASON for more violent waves: The moon is a satellite that also controls the behaviour of our oceans and seas. Space is under attack because of all the "garbage" man hauls out to space. If the moon is messed with and moved even an inch off its orbital pattern, we would experience massive tidal waves. Another reason is what this docum. stated. Our oceans and seas are drying up causing them to be more shallow than ever before. Greenhouse gases and global warming. Just the beginning.

Been fishing on the North Sea for 14 years and this looks and sounds rather familiar.
