Flyingsofa, it's 50.000 years that goes this way, I think we can say safely this will never change. It's a human brain bug, this compulsive need to break the balls to other people.

Cage with 4:33 gave a totally different point of view, he broke ultimate taboo of music: being reasonable in his existance, going to very gross terms, music exist because music exist, so putting this fact in discussion is heresie. It's not necessary listen to this piece, it's important it exists. People gave a standing ovation to Cage's concept, not to the execution, which doesn't even existed. They're not stupid, just know what's happening so they don't react like a gorilla facing an ET. :-D

even if you don't understand this/dislike it. i find it interesting that people express HATE. why do you HATE something so innofensive as a silent play? it's doing no harm to you at all. you hate that it means something to other people. face it. you want to understand it.

The guy at 1:35 is cracking up.

THIS is why most people hate and dismiss postmodern art... and they are right to do so. It's like since the middle of the 20th century we're on a Twilight Zone episode, where bullshit like this is applauded at, and Damien Hirst is rich and considered a fucking genius.

I'm pretty disappointed by the audience.....WHY THE FUCK THEY DID A STAND-UP OVATION FOR THE WORST PIECE EVER OF MUSIC EVER MADE? |
