A way out? Of his own creation? Why should we have needed a "way out" in the first place? If he loved us, he wouldn't threaten us with damnation, force us to remain ignornant in his name, and require religious nonsense to oppress certain peoples because he didn't 'choose' them. The Bible also says its better for a woman to be raped than for a man to have sex with a man. Great love there...No effort? Just blind obedience... no effort, what a load. It requires our entire LIFE.

There is no free choice between peace and NOT peace, heaven and hell. Thats using fear to try and force a desired outcome, and fear is never a good reason to do anything. We CAN and ARE good without him dictating what is good. Thats because we're a social species, and social species survive at higher rates when they don't run around killing and raping each other. This goes for ALL apes, even most monkeys.Using a lack of god as a reason someone CAN'T be good is a cop out, nothing more.

Cosmic rape... by putting us in a peaceful place? Verses putting us in eternal TORTURE? Are you daft? Thats not a choice. If god is all knowing/powerful, he knew where we would go, what we would choose, before we were even born, then he created us that way anyway, flaws and all... and then he's going to eternally punish us for sins in a finite life, even though he could have created us all perfectly in the first place? What a crock. There are so many logical falisies it stinks on high.

Can the black guy be quiet and listen for a single question? He interrupted EVERY TIME. Seriously, I'd kick him off my show. I can't stand that uncivilized interrupting c**p.

Given the evidence? How is an ancient book, with its books passed down through oral tradition many years before even being written down, conclusive evidence?

Btw, I think it is worth mentioning that the hell we know today is NOT biblical. Gehenna, the term many people mistranslate to mean hell, was actually a dump outside Jerusalem. The reference by Jesus was used to describe the result of Rome's conquering of Jerusalem if the Israelites did not repent of their ways. There is no biblical support of a literal place where people burn after death.

Geez...don't even get me started with whole "sacrifice". Was it not enough for God to simply say "I forgive you" and be done with it? He's all powerful, isn't he? The fact that he required a bloody, tortuous murder just goes to show what an immoral being this Yahweh is.And besides, what exactly did "god" sacrifice? What is a measly, earthly body to him? He created everything, couldn't he just have made another one? It's so crazy, I can't believe millions of people believe in this stuff.

1 Corinthians 15:3-8 gives a list of all the people who witnessed Jesus alive after his crucifixion, and it explicitly states that 500+ people saw Christ at the same time. It's kind of difficult to surmount that one. What I don't understand is why when I state that the resurrection definitely happened I am accused of being dogmatic and fundamentalistic, and when I state that it probably happened I am accused of being unsure in my faith. For the record, I do believe in the Resurrection.
Jesusmetalhead (December 31, 1969 at 4:59 pm)
Probable-to be expected, likely. It is likely that the Resurrection occurred, given the evidence. Likely means a lot and requires more of a step of faith rather than the popular assumption that Christianity requires a LEAP of faith. The Resurrection, according to the evidence, is much more probable than the visitation to Muhammed by Gabriel given that the visitation happened in a secluded, private setting. CROWDS of people saw Christ alive after the crucifixion.

I cant not understand why people are so angry about a God who loves you so much that He provided a way out for you but you refuse it. The Bible says seek and you will find, ask and it will be given to you. If you truly want to know more truly seek with an open-mind. Christanity is the ONLY faith that does not require your effort to be saved, Jesus has already done it. Confess, Repent and ask Him into your heart. |
