I never called you a geek, and I do not think you are a geek, mate!

And no, I do not get holy say in the view on Tolkien's works. Tolkien himself gets the ultimate view, and he is dead, which is the ONLY reason these films exist. Think about the books and about Tolkien's personality, and then think if Tolkien were sitting in the theater watching these films. Every literary scholar on Tolkien knows that he probably would have scorned them completely in characterization alone because his most beloved characters were disgraced and you KNOW it if you read it.

I meant a Sean Connery type actor when he was around 55 would have been ideal. Badassery! And if things weren't meant to be ad hominem, how come you called me a geek, and one hell of a stupid guy. Those are completely irrelevant to the discussion at hand and are personal attacks on me. Your intention completely was to degrade me, immature.

Just enjoy the book, man... I don't think you get "holy" or have the right to say that your view on Tolkiens works are THE right way to see it, just because you a lot about Tolkien ... But some of the things you have said has a major point(Like Gimli) I strongly disagree on Sean Connery playing Aragorn though(lol). And the things I said weren't meant as hominem attacks.

I agree with the invasion of Isengard, but that was a cinematic change clearly to heighten tension that the Ents would not take back Orthanc.I also agree about Faramir. He was made toooo much like Boromir in the films, when in the books obviously the contrast between Faramir and Boromir are like night and day. The members of the House of the Stewards descend from Numenor. Thus Faramir and Boromir are blood Numenors. They just are not of the ruling line of Elros.

I don't think we're here to give opinion about the movie but about the wonderful music howard shore composed

I think the way Treebeard did not make the decision initially to go to was against Isengard was a mistake. I know i am nit-picking, but I do wish the honorable attributes of the characters was true (another example is faramir - when in the movie he decides to take Frodo to minas tirith, when in the book he proved his "quality" and Frodo thought he had an elvish air about him, perhaps that of a Numenorian heritage). Elrond was also made out to be a grumpy old elf not one of wisdom.
