Fact, the majority of abuses in the fishery are from the recreational sector, again, go look it up. In New Jersey for instance, the bonus fish (3'd fish) tag program is widely abuse by the for hire industry.This isn't about fish, it's about money, there just happens to be fish involved.These folks would have you believe that it's better to hurt this species for fun and laughs, than to use this resource on a limited and regulated basis to provide food for persons who don't fish.

Stripers forever is lying. They offer not one valid reason for actually reallocating the commercial portion of the TAC to the recreational sector will actually benefit the species. It fails to tell the public the facts.Fact- the rectreationals fisheries discard mortality is equal to the entire commercial discard and harvest mortality combined, look it up.

I think farming fish is one of the best things we can do. Look what they have done with salmon. Give the yuppies who have never picked up a rod and reel their luxury fish products and let the wild fish thrive. Commercial industry should invest in and develop aquaculture.

Here are the facts, less that 1/2% of the anglers are allowed to take 30% of the total weight. 26 million lbs of big breeders killed in Mass. alone every year. Tackle shops and charter boats put more into the economy that your greed ever will. Commercial fishing for SB has outlived it's usefulness. If a couple of weeks of SB season puts you in "jepordy" well then you are living beyond your means.

Just remember something, commercial guys are outnumbered 300 to 1. If you are not smart enough to make ends meet then you should not be wasting gas on the water. What will you and your friends say when you kill the last breeder or when those marks start disappearing? Everyone that reads this guys comments should join Stripers forever. Hey cocksuckers. fuck you and all of your hippie lives. i just watched this bullshit for 6.24 and im pissed off. you are just whining about how much you suck at fishing. you ald your friends cant catch fish, and we commercial guys can. there are no nets allowed anymore so i dont know why catch and release isnt an option. we are already regulated enough and its how we make ends meet in the summer. if you marked the ammount of fish i do, you wouldnt be bitching. you just suck
